You, the residents of Rochester, have been very generous in donating books and videos to fill the shelves with materials that can be checked out. Your Rochester Community Library is operated totally using volunteers. All volunteers and Library Board members serve without pay of any kind. The library has no funding source for materials or supplies and relies totally upon donations from the residents of Rochester for these needed items. Your generosity is very much appreciated by the volunteers. We have received many comments from community members indicating how much they appreciate having a library here in Rochester.
The Rochester Library Board is in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) Corporation and will be able to provide you with receipts for your donations in the near future.
While there is a continuing need for books and videos in good condition there also a need for other types of supplies. Listed below are some of the current items desired. This list will be updated as needs change. Thank you again for your generosity.

Volunteers to staff the library is a continuing need. PLEASE consider becoming a Library Volunteer. Click here to view the chart showing times when there is need for volunteers this month. Training is available and the task is light! For more information call the library at 360-858-7086 or e-mail Gabrielle at gdavis@roofcommunityservices.org |
The library is open for 6 three-hour periods each week. That means there is the need for a minimum of 6 volunteers each week with only one volunteer per three-hour shift. The three-hour shifts are from 10:00 AM to 12:30, 12:30 to 3:00 PM and 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Two volunteers for each of these time periods is the ultimate goal for providing proper library supervision and assistance. With additional volunteers the library could be open on other days.
