Benefits of Membership in the Grand Mound Rochester Park
Association
Membership in the Grand Mound/Rochester Park Association (GMRPA) gives you a voice in how the park is to be managed. As a member you enjoy the following benefits:
Each member shall be entitled to one vote
Nominate and vote for candidates for Elected Offices and Directors (Officers and Directors are nominated at the February meeting and elected at the Annual Meeting in April)
Eligible to be elected as an Officer or Director.
Members of the Association may propose an amendment to the Articles of Incorporation or Bylaws
Receive Newsletters, Invitations and other communications about the Park
Membership dues help offset the cost of maintaining the park facilities.
Additionally, when seeking funding for park improvements from foundations and corporate sources it is usually very desirable to show a membership base of local citizens who are supportive of the GMRPA. A larger membership base will indicate a greater local involvement and support for the goals of the Park Association. Foundations and corporate sources providing funding grants usually look at the local level of support as part of their evaluation criteria in deciding whether or not to approve the request. One of these forms of local support is the membership base of the organization submitting a request for funding. Naturally, larger membership translates into greater local support.
