Meeting Minutes, Steering Committee

 The draft minutes of the July 22, 2009 Grand Mound Rochester Horizons (GMRH) Steering Committee meeting are posted below.  They are subject to correction and approval at the GMRH Steering Committee meeting on August 26th.

Joe called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM on June 9, 2009 in the courtyard of the Rochester Community Center.

Those present were: Joe Baisch, Joy Baisch, Donna Smith, Suzanne Brown and Bill Liddle.

The purpose of the meeting was to determine the “project list” for the Visioning Event on Sunday, June 14^th, 2009.

The list of projects for discussion at the Visioning Event will be as follows:

1. Pedestrian Trail (From Larry’s Chevron to the Rochester Primary/elementary School area east of town.)
2. Sidewalks (From Bailey’s IGA eastward to Larry’s Chevron)
3. Village Center/Main Street Theme
4. Completion of Independence Park (Grand Mound Rochester Park Association park at the Rochester Community Center)
5. Community Center Courtyard renovation for Community activities
6. Develop Continuing Rooster of Volunteers for the Rochester Community Library

There was also a discussion about the preparations for the “Visioning Event on Sunday.  Donna and Suzanne are working with others to develop the decorations.  Donna has the food contracted for by “Two Old Crows and a Hen” to provide the BBQ Pulled Beef and Coleslaw salad.  Donna and Suzanne will take care of the drinks, napkins, plastic silverware, etc.
