Old Business:

bulletProject Reports
bulletSidewalks – Washington State DOT has let a contract for paving Hwy 12 through Rochester and curbing along the roadway is part of that project.  While we won’t be getting sidewalks it will at least better identify a safer walking area along the roadway.
bulletFarmers Market – about $500.00 already returned to the bank account from vender space rentals. Still looking for more vendors
bulletSwimming Pools – no activity this period other than the Methodist youth group still collecting money.
bulletLearning center – Teachers have been hired and there are 8 students registered. An open house was held on Swede Day and another open house will be held on September 14th.
bulletBasic Computer Literacy – No new activity this period
bullet Clothing Bank – shut down in July to setup the double wide.  They need more volunteers and there is some furniture is available now.
bullet Gate City Schoolhouse - Their blueberry pancake breakfast will be on, Saturady, July 24th.  The kitchen remodel is underway.
bullet Community Center – No activity this period
bullet Rochester Soccer Center – No activity this period

Steering Committee Policies and Procedures – A draft copy was handed out.  There was a short discussion about what it is and why we need it.  It was decided people should review it during the month and come to the next meeting ready to vote on the matter.  Comments on the draft can be e-mailed to waliddle@msn.com

New Business:

bulletLodging Tax Information – Vivian Eason e-mailed Bill Liddle a report from Thurston County indicating that the counties portion of the lodging tax revenue is committed to the County Fair until 2016.
bulletP. O. Box Rent Due – A check was issued to pay the box rent for the next year.
bulletSuzanne Brown reported the camera is no longer working.  It was decided the cost to repair it would probably exceed the value of it.  It was also decided not to replace it, as most of us would rather use our own cameras.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM

 Respectfully submitted
